Detailed program of the day

DAY 1 – REIMS REGION

> Private full-day transportation in full option Mercedes vehicle with an English-speaking driver-guide.

> Champagne Scenic Road and introduction about Champagne and the region
Enjoy a commented tour through the Champagne Scenic Road and discover the Premier Cru and Grand Cru villages that are part of the Montagne de Reims area. 

> Private visit and tasting at a top-range boutique Champagne Producer 
You are welcomed at the domain of a family owned Champagne House located in the heart of the vineyard, in the Montagne de Reims area. 

> Lunch at leisure ( to be included upon request, or to be paid on site)

> Cellar tour and tasting at Champagne Veuve Clicquot (or another famous Champagne House)
Discover the History of Madame Clicquot ‘The Great Lady of Champagne’, and visit the magnificent “Crayères” – the UNESCO-listed chalk cellars. After the tour, you will enjoy a commented tasting of two iconic Champagnes from the range.

> Visit Reims Cathedral and city center
Walk through the alleys of Reims Cathedral, an impressive and highly symbolic monument. From 1027 to 1825, this masterpiece of Gothic art hosted the coronation ceremonies of the French monarchs. It has been part of UNESCO World Heritage since 1991.

DAY 2 – EPERNAY AND HAUTVILLERS REGION

> Commented walk in Hautvillers, the village of Dom Pérignon
The charming UNESCO-listed village of Hautvillers is your first stop. There, trace the origin of Champagne and visit the church where the famous monk Dom Pierre Pérignon is buried.

> Private visit and tasting at a Grand Cru producer in the Côtes des Blancs area, Blanc de Blanc tasting
Discover a top-range family producer from the prestigious Côte des Blancs area, in one of the Grand Cru villages of Champagne. After a tour of the cellar, your host will have you taste a wide range of exclusive Blanc de Blancs Champagnes.

DAY 3 – THIRD DAY OF CHAMPAGNE TOURING (OPTION 1)

For your third day in the Champagne region, it is time for your to dive into the Champagne world, and to discover the philosophy behind each producers. 

Several tastings and workshops are available to make you discover your favorite wine from a new perspective : base wines tastings and blendings, harvest workshops, dosage masterclass, comparative tastings… No doubt you will come back home with good memories and a lot of tips to share with your friends !

DAY 3 – WWI TOUR  (OPTION 2)

Full day-tour to WWI Sites in the Champagne region and its surroundings.

Discover one of the darkest part of the region’s history : the Great War. After meeting your guide, one of the best expert of the WWI battles in France, board a Mercedes vehicule for a full day visiting remembrance WWI sites in the region. 

Many itineraries are possible, from sample ones to discover specific areas, or tailor-made ones to follow the trace of your ancestors. Your guide will be pleased to study your family history and and take you to the places that matter to you. 

Here are some sites that can be visited during a day tour from the Champagne region :

WWI Tour in Belleau Wood and Chateau-Thierry area: Belleau village and battlefields, Ainse-Marne cemetery, Hill 204 Memorial in Chateau-Thierry, Memorial Quentin Roosvelt.

WWI Tour in Verdun area: Town of Verdun, Fort Douaumont, the Ossuary Memorial, destroyed villages and tranchees, Verdun Memorial.

WWI Tour in Reims area: Reims city center and Cathedral, Fort de la Pompelle, and Blanc Mont Ridge, Rockefeller and Carnegie legacy in Reims, Navarrin Memorial.

WWI Tour in Meuse-Argonne area: Meuse Argonne battlefields, Hill of Vauquois, American Meuse-Argonne cemetary, Argonne forest, American memorial of Montfaucon.
