Successful first edition for the Champagne Awards Ceremony!

The first edition of the Champagne Awards Ceremony was held on October 16th in the magnificent setting of Epernay town hall. The aim of this event was to highlight the best initiatives among the Champagne professionals and reward the most dynamic ambassadors of the Champagne appellation. The jury, which was composed of journalists, thus awarded the Belgian novelist Amélie Nothomb as the “Champenoise of the year”. Indeed, the writer has always claimed her love and passion for Champagne, which is ever-present in her novels.

Among the other prizes that were awarded on the occasion, the ‘best Champagne House’ award went to Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin. It must also be noted that Laurent Fresnet, from Champagne Henriot, received an award for being the ‘best cellar master’ in 2015. Finally, Mailly Grand Cru must be proud to win the prize for the ‘best Champagne Cooperative of 2015’.
